This idea has been suggested numerous times, particularly by the major manufactured teams who are the top, which is a strong indication as to why they want it. But first, let us go over the strengths and weaknesses behind this idea and then I'll suggest what I genuinely believe is better for Formula 1.

With Daniel Ricciardo leaving Red Bull for Renault Sports F1, the next big this is, who's going to fill his shoes and take that second seat at Red Bull.
Daniel Ricciardo has announced that he'll be leaving Red Bull Racing at the end of the season to jump ship to Renault Sport F1, which is to everyone's surprise. Although I personally predicted that he was going to stay at Red Bull Racing to partner up with Honda next season, I'm not all to surprised he's leaving for Renault Sport F1.
